Toronto tech startup brings wearable wares to CES

Ashley Beattie and his buddies bet the farm long before they hit the Las Vegas strip this week.

In fact, the five Toronto-based entrepreneurs were total strangers less than a year ago, but they believe so strongly in one little thumb-sized gadget that they quit their day jobs and started a company to produce the Kiwi Move, a multi-sensor wearable device that takes aim at typical activity trackers and smart watches.

With wearables considered the next frontier in mobile technology beyond tablets and smart phones, the Kiwi Wearables team hopes to have a winner with the launch of their new gadget just in time for the massive Consumer Electronics Show, which starts Tuesday in Las Vegas.
